Captain Frederick Ludwig, 32nd Indiana

Fred Ludwig, an Indianapolis resident, enlisted as a corporal in Company “I” on August 29, 1861. Following the long summer trek from North Alabama to Louisville, Ludwig was appointed 2nd Lieutenant of Company “B” in November. At the end of March 1863, he became 1st lieutenant of Company “C' and Regiment Quartermaster. Ludwig returned to Indianapolis with the regiment and mustered out in September 1864.
